Cupping
Cupping was designed to reduce stagnancy and aid recovery by increasing circulation and increase fascial flexibility or "energy". The cups can be used to slide and glide layers of tissue or held statically by lifting, stretching and creating space within the body.
This ancient manual therapy was normally only one aspect of the Traditional Chinese Medicine approach to balance a person's energy. Bamboo or glass cups were originally used, but have largely been replaced by plastic for safety purposes.

Our Approach
When appropriate and agreed by you and your practitioner, Chinese Cupping can be used as a stand-alone treatment but more commonly as supportive therapy alongside other management strategies such as sports rehabilitation, performance facilitation, ergonomic adjustments to your work environment and herbal/dietary modifications.
A light discolouration to the skin without tenderness is commonly experienced. A heavily bruised appearance is indicative of stagnantion, the darker the appearance indicates a prolonged duration or build-up of strain. Temporary puckering or swelling should settle within 24 hours.

What clients say
After a diagnosis of osteo-arthritus I spoke to Alex (Podiatrist) and she was able to test me on a treadmill in her clinic and explain that my left leg was not walking the way it should. Alex took the time to explain everything and supplied custom made insoles, she also recommended the correct footwear i needed as well.
Alex comes to our house to take care of my wife and my feet, she is extremely approachable and knowledgeable and has a great caring attitude.
